About Me

All my life I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I accepted their answers too, though they were often in contradiction and even self-contradictory. I was naïve. I was looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer. It took me a long time and much painful boomeranging of my expectations to achieve a realization everyone else appears to have been born with: that I am nobody but myself. ~Ralph Ellison, "Battle Ro

Workshop ... 2nd Edition!

For the next few days I'll be posting about the second photography workshop I attended in October 2010.
--------

Frederico Mendes rocked again last year with this second edition of his photography workshop. It took place in Acton, MA during the most beautiful season of all: Autumn. And what's best is that he wasn't alone. This time she brought his wife along with him. Lilian Granado is her name. She is a great woman, great photographer, great personality... I feel so honored to have met her! You know when you meet someone you get so connected to and almost feels like you know that person from a looong time ago? She's that someone to me! Besides Lilian, Frederico Mendes, with the help of our lovely love Amelia Andrade,  also brought a few strangers together in the same room that soon would become friends by having and sharing one thing in common: the passion for Photography.

Meet the crew...

A few people are missing in this photo. From left to right:
Lilian Granado, myself, Fernanda Marçal, Amelia Andrade, Eduardo Henrique, the Master Frederico Mendes,  Adilson Godoy, Rebeca Romero, Samoel DaSilva, Elen Rosa and Jeff Silva.
Photographers Shirley DeCourcey and Kaynan Franca, Marilia Lima, Kaster Abreu and Lael Oliveira as well as the models Larissa Patrocinio, Stephanie Oliveira and Alex Spry were not in the picture.

Here's a few shots from day one with Stephanie Oliveira, Alex Spry, Larissa Patrocinio and Adriana Smith.

Soon I'll be posting more photos from day two.  See you then...

Lights.. Camera... and Foil Paper!

This photo shoot happened on Saturday the 15th in Allston, MA at Kaster's place. Using the latest equipment such as Amelia's pinhole camera, we sure brought this one to the next level! Nah... I'm just messing with you. But yes, Amelia has a pinhole camera which I am anxious to see the results on the film, and she had her Mini Diana as well. Once again thanks to Amelia for introducing me to this new old world of Lomography and to invite me to participate on this project. I am absolutely in love with the news! I'll be posting about my experience with Lomography as soon as I get my camera. Can't wait!
Thank you Kaster Abreu for you time and patience. I love your ideas for the project and hope I'm there to help and support in every step of the way. It was very nice to get to know you better. You're awesome! And thanks to Caio Silverstrin and Kezya Marques. Our models of the day. It was an absolute a pleasure to meet you guys. It was lot of fun! ;c)

Have a great week everyone!  Enjoy...
